What Is Cellulite?
The word 'cellulite' is the expression used to describe pockets of fat trapped under your skin producing a dimpling effect. It is an irregular formation that is wide-spread. Some call it 'orange peel skin' because of its resemblance.
Women are most likely to be affected by this condition. As a matter of fact 90% of post-adolescent women will likely develop cellulite at some time during their life. The most affected areas are thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. These areas are where women suffer most. Although it is often mistaken for obesity, cellulite is not actually linked to obesity because it can also affect thin women.
Where does cellulite hide?
There are three specific layers of fat hidden underneath the dermis and epidermis. This is where cellulite tends to develop, in the subcutaneous fat layers. These layers may vary in depth depending on the person.
Hormones affect Cellulite Formation
Hormonal changes such as levels of estrogen also play a role in storage of fat and cellulite. Cellulite is, for the most part, found in women during hormonal changes that occur during menopause or puberty. In some cases it has even been linked to the use of birth control pills.
A woman's hormones responsible for the regulating blood flow, fat storage, connective tissue and lymphatic drainage. When this is altered by hormonal changes, a woman becomes susceptible to cellulite formation. Another factor that may influence cellulite formation is if the person has a family history of cellulite or if they have poor diet and exercise habits. This common condition can be treated with natural skin care products that regenerate skin and strengthen the connective tissues responsible for skin's elasticity. There are an unlimited variety of cellulite remedies out there.
But, here's the trick. The best and most effective anti cellulite cream is one capable of preventing cellulite formation by inhibiting fat storage and eliminating excess fat deposits immediately below the dermis area which is prone to cellulite. This can only be achieved with products containing natural ingredients.
