Stretch Marks On The Skin? Not A Problem Anymore

by Jen Hopkins

Stretch marks are basically lines that form on the skin as it loses its elasticity over time. These are formed when the skin has been over stretched causing damage to the elastin. Stretch marks usually appear as red or purple lines on the skin. These turn into such color because of the damaged collagen and elastin in the dermis.

Stretch marks must be treated immediately. Leaving these on the skin will only cause it to get worse. Damaged elastin really takes time before it heals but this does not mean that there is nothing you can do about it. There are a lot of ways to reduce the stretch marks on the skin so people have to be optimistic when it comes to treating stretch marks.

Cocoa butter is the secret that most people have when it comes to reducing stretch marks. The use of cocoa butter is basically applying it one the skin. This method is very effective since it penetrates into the dermis where it starts to repair elastin and collage. Once the damage beneath the skin has been fixed, this will start to lighten the stretch marks until it disappears.

Stretch marks creams are also effective ways to get rid of stretch marks on the skin. Like cooca butter, this is applied on the skin in order to reduce the stretch marks. Most stretch mark creams contain glycolic acid, retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids and tretinoin. These creams enhance the repair of the skin. When applied, skin regeneration becomes faster, replacing the damage primary layer of the skin.

One treatment that has been proven to remove stretch marks is microdermabrasion. This procedure uses emitted crystals that are used to remove the dead skin cells and the primary layer of the skin. Stretch marks as well as impurities found on the skin are removed. Once the layer of skin is removed, the growth of new skin is stimulated. This results to having smoother and younger-looking skin.

Laser treatment is a reliable way of removing stretch marks on the skin. When the laser is placed on the skin, it removes the primary layer of the skin together with the stretch mark. New skin is then formed on the treated area, making the stretch marks look lighter. Laser treatment may take a few sessions before the stretch marks disappear. This can really be an expensive treatment but those who can afford this treatment will surely benefit from this.

Stretch marks are actually treatable. It is very important to start treating stretch marks as early as possible. While these are still red, purple or brown, this is can still be treated easily. Once it turns white, reducing the stretch marks will be more difficult. These are some of the effective ways to reduce the appearance of the stretch marks on the skin. Flawless skin is not so hard to achieve when you know how to remove stretch marks on the skin.
