Spirulina Health Products: The Benefits, Dangers and Side Effects of Spirulina: In my newsletter, (JuicingTips.com), you know that I rave about the power of greens, but in that same breath I also warn you of the power of greens. Green powder (were talking about high quality, good stuff, here) is often overlooked my healthy consumers, and underestimated by those who know of it. Spirulina is one of those green powders I talk about a lot, and sometimes include in the juicer recipes i share with you. This quick little, health article, will give some specific details about spirulina, why it should be in your diet, how to use it - specific to you - because quantity will be different for everybody, the dangers of spirulina, and the best deal I've found online to get some - without any excuses. Spirulina health products are everywhere. If you are unfamiliar with the benefits of incorporating greens into your diet, buying a jar of potently green powder that tastes like lawn clippings straight, may sound completely ludicrous in your world. And that's o.k., there's no fault in that. But, here's the thing, the powders that I use in my recipes and diets are considered expensive to some, but I am constantly bombarded with "what do you use, Joe?" types of questions. And, sure I use seriously high quality stuff, but I don't want you to think for a minute, that you have to spend an arm and a leg on the same thing, in order to see results. There are lots of options out there. The powdered greens that I use run about $60.00 a bottle and I use heaping tablespoons, so I run through it (and it through me!) pretty quickly, faster than the average. But, mind you, I juice regularly and am, well, "clean as a whistle" inside. But do NOT think you can do that if you are new to a healthy diet, or new to juicing, or new to greens. See, there are a lot of people, including health guru's who run around like their head was cut off, babbling about green powders to anybody and everybody in ear-shot. What they fail to tell people (and shame on them), is that if you don't use nutrition correctly for YOU, it can seriously mess you up and send steps backwards - becoming death bed sick. Understand this: nutrition and healthy eating, vitamins, and minerals, anti-oxidants, greens, exercise, all of it is good for you, yes, BUT what many people fail to see (because few people preaching about the benefits fail miserably to ever bring it up) is how GOOD it can be for you. Let me make it CRYSTAL CLEAR what I'm saying here. Just because something is known to be "good for you" DOES NOT MEAN that more is better. Don't ever make that assumption - because it can COST YOU your health. I'll expand on that shortly, but let's dig into some of the other reasons I'm writing this for you. O.k., I pointed you to this page on my site, because I have a lot to tell you, that I think it important for you to know, and by now, you know that I just didn't have enough space in a emailed, juicing newsletter to tell you. The powdered greens I use have a little bit of all things green inside. But, as mentioned, that kind of green option can cost too much for some of my readers. So, one thing I try my best to do for my readers (that's you, my dear) is shop around and finding cost conscience, but quality options. And spirulina gives us a way to put a green powder in your hand that is potent, nutritionally beneficial, but minus the cost of having all those other green ingredients inside - despite their benefit.
